The exploits of a 10-year-old Shropshire lad who interviewed Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson were due to be shown to millions of television viewers today.
Pint-sized reporter Jack Groom, of Market Drayton, got to quiz the football boss after Saturday's 2-1 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge.
BBC camera crews filmed the interview, which will be screened on Midlands Today tonight and on BBC One's new regional Football League show Late Kick Off.
The football-mad Shrews fan, who attended his first game at the tender age of three, was roped in to appear on the show after a chance meeting with a BBC reporter who interviewed Jack during a special birthday event at the Prostar stadium recently.
Mum Lisa Groom said: "It came about by chance when we were at the stadium to celebrate Jack's birthday.
"The BBC were there so we were in the right place at the right time. They interviewed the players for a pre-season report but they also asked Jack a few questions and thought he did very well so they asked to speak to him again for the new show."
