County carnivals - in pictures

It's been a day of carnivals, with thousands of people attending events in Newport, Newtown and Shrewsbury.

Thousands of people were expected at the Newtown Carnival this afternoon. The event will be followed by a duck race from Dolerw Bridge at 2.30pm tomorrow. For details call John Whittaker on 01686 650634.

Shrewsbury's annual carnival parade featured 25 floats and 15 groups of marching bands moving through the town towards the fun and attractions in the Quarry.
