Kelvin allows a user to roast their own coffee beans with different blends and intensities for a fresh, customised cup in under 10 minutes.
Users can choose the green coffee beans, with options for origin and blends, and have them delivered to their door to be roasted at home.
Created by IA Collaborative, the company claims that due to cost savings on professional roasting and handling, the device can pay for itself “in less than a year”.
The product passed its 40,000 USD (around £28,000) fundraising target in just three hours, and has now beaten its target by over 167,000 dollars (around £119,000) with 41 days to go.
Backers of the product on Kickstarter receive rewards including the Kelvin device and packs of unroasted beans.
