Karma Automotive and Italian design house Pininfarina will present three new models at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show later this month.

Karma Automotive emerged from the remains of Fisker, the brainchild of Henrik Fisker and the creator of the range-extended electric vehicle, the Fisker Karma.

Since the brand became Karma Automotive, it has produced a revamped version of the Fisker Karma named the Revero.

The Revero is expected to be revealed in a refreshed form in Shanghai, alongside the ‘Vision’ concept and a new coupe, both revealed in shadowy teaser images.

The Vision was shown off in a front-on image, with slim LED daytime running lights and gaping twin-air intakes visible. The coupe, meanwhile, is shown in profile, with a swooping roofline, long bonnet and broad rear haunches visible.

All three vehicles are expected to be electric, though the updated Revero may retain its 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine as a range-extender.

Karma’s CEO, Dr Lance Zhou, said of the partnership: “Karma is united in spirit with Pininfarina through our shared commitment to stunning design, and we are excited about the reaction we anticipate the end result of our partnership will generate.”

Pininfarina is best known as a design and coachbuilding house, but has branched out into designing full vehicles under the Automobili Pininfarina brand. Its Battista electric hypercar debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March and showcased an incredibly powerful 1,874bhp electric powertrain.

The Shanghai Auto Show, or Auto Shanghai, opens on April 16 and runs until April 25.
