Aston Martin’s hotly anticipated Valkyrie hypercar has been showcased in a never-before-seen colour scheme, with the firm releasing a fresh batch of images.

Posted on the British brand’s Instagram page, the image set shows the machine in a two-tone blue finish, starting with light blue at the front, fading into a darker hue.

The pictures also give another look at the cabin of the car – which boasts an array of carbon-fibre components lined in Alcantara, while two digital displays either side of the windscreen catch the eye. These are linked to cameras outside the car, acting in place of wing mirrors.

Set to go on sale next year, the Valkyrie has been co-developed with four-time Formula One Constructors’ Championship-winning team Red Bull Racing and is the brainchild of legendary racing car designer Adrian Newey.

Powered by a 6.5-litre, Cosworth-engineered V12 engine, the hypercar is set to boast a figure close to 1,000bhp, with trick aerodynamics and a low weight aiming to make it one of the fastest cars with a licence plate.

The Valkyrie will also see at least one descendant, with Aston Martin working on another mid-engined supercar. Codenamed ‘003’, it’ll use a petrol-electric powertrain, but exact specifications are yet to be confirmed, although it’s not expected to rival the firm’s upcoming flagship machine. Aston Martin says ‘003’ will come to market in the latter half of 2021.
