This hydrogen-powered truck can make you a pizza
Toyota unveils Tundra PIE Pro — a fuel-cell powered truck that houses a robotic pizza kitchen

Ever conscious of your carbon footprint when munching through a tasty pizza? Fear not, Toyota has the machine for you.
This is the Tundra PIE Pro — a truck powered by hydrogen, fitted out with a fully-functional pizza kitchen at the back. It’s been unveiled at the SEMA aftermarket car show, currently taking place in Las Vegas, USA.

It’s based on the Tundra truck, which isn’t available in the UK but enjoys considerable popularity stateside. This mobile pizza machine is powered by a hydrogen powertrain borrowed from the Mirai saloon.
The eco-friendly powertrain powers not just the car, but also two robotic arms in the cargo bed — capable of baking, cutting and boxing Pizza Hut pizzas. Sadly, it’s unlikely to ever see a real production run but Toyota claims the only thing the PIE Pro leaves in its wake are ‘tasty pizzas and water vapour’.

While this one-off Tundra stole the Toyota show at SEMA, the firm has also brought along some other tasty offerings.
Three Corollas are on show, and two of those came from a challenge commissioned by the Japanese firm dubbed ‘Battle of the Shops’. Two tuners rose to the occasion, showcasing the aftermarket potential for the latest version of the hatchback.
Rounding out the Corolla trio is one very different from the base car, which is normally a low-output, front-wheel-drive commuter car. This example has been built for entry into Formula Drift, a competition originating in the United States that puts drift racers head-to-head, with the modified hatch converted to rear-wheel-drive for maximum sideways capability. It also houses a huge turbocharged powertrain, said to be capable of developing 1,000bhp.
Another Tundra is also present, this time an example slightly customised by actor Kevin Costner, while the upcoming Supra sports car makes a double appearance in both Racing Concept and NASCAR stock car form.
