Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has begun the recruitment process for 200 new roles at its headquarters and manufacturing facility in Goodwood, West Sussex.

The recruitment drive comes after the manufacturer of ultra-luxurious cars announced that half-year sales were up by 13 per cent compared with the same period in 2017. That’s due to a wealth of new products, including the new Phantom and Black Badge variants of the existing Dawn, Ghost and Wraith.

In addition, the brand unveiled its first ever SUV – the Cullinan, which will see its first customer deliveries in 2019. Order books for the Cullinan’s first year of production are already filled.

With these strong sales, Rolls-Royce will expand its workforce bringing the total number of employees on its site to over 2,000 for the first time. That’s a six-fold increase on the original number when the site first opened in 2003.

New roles will be available across all skilled production areas, with jobs available in areas such as Wood, Leather, Test & Finish and Paint departments. As all Rolls-Royce models are hand-built, it’s a career that requires some skill regardless of area.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars chief executive, said: “I am delighted to announce our new recruitment programme. This reflects not only the success of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars to date, but also our confidence in the future of our business. Rolls-Royce continues to strive for long-term sustainable growth and we remain fully committed to luxury manufacturing at our Home here in Great Britain.”
