Toyota Corolla Touring Sports revealed
First images shown of upcoming Corolla Touring Sports estate, which is set for a public debut at the Paris Motor Show
Toyota has pulled back the covers on the Corolla Touring Sports, which will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.
The estate variant will join the line-up alongside the latest version of the Corolla hatchback revealed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Although it shares the looks of the regular hatch, the Touring Sport’s estate body brings more practicality thanks to a 598-litre boot capacity. Toyota also claims its 2,700mm wheelbase will allow the car to offer ‘best-in-class’ rear legroom.
Three powertrain options will be available for the Corolla Touring Sports. First up is a 1.2-litre petrol option developing 144bhp. Building on that is a choice of two petrol-hybrid options — a 1.8-litre, 120bhp setup and a 2.0-litre, 178bhp powertrain. There is no word yet on efficiency figures, but expect to hear more closer to the car’s release date.
Inside the car, a ‘comprehensive range of technology features’ will be on offer, including a head-up display, JBL surround sound system and wireless phone charging.
Four bi-tone colour options will be available at launch. Full details on these have yet to be disclosed, but they will feature a black roof, pillars and lower front grille surround.
The Corolla badge is making a return to the UK for the first time since 2005 — when it was replaced with the Auris. It has been available around the globe in that time though, with international market Corollas mechanically-similar to the Auris.
Pricing for the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports has yet to be revealed, although it’s expected to be released following the car’s Paris Motor Show debut.
