High-powered four-door saloon from luxury vehicle manufacturer follows on from the DB11 AMR

Aston Martin has revealed a new addition to its performance AMR line-up – the Rapide AMR.

The four-door saloon follows on from the DB11 AMR and features a range of performance and styling upgrades over the regular Rapide S.

Most noticeable is a hike in power – now up from 545bhp to 595bhp – coming courtesy of a naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 engine, which is capable of sending the Rapide AMR to 60mph in 4.2 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 205mph.

A new quad exhaust system should give the Rapide AMR a suitably sporty engine note, too.

Ensuing that the whole car is brought to a stop effectively are carbon ceramic brake discs, with six-piston callipers at the front and four-piston callipers at the rear. They sit behind new 21-inch forged alloy wheels with a multi-spoke design that aids brake cooling.

The AMR’s suspension set-up has also been given a rigorous overhaul, with the whole car now sitting 10mm lower than the Rapide S. The three-stage damping system has been re-engineered to give the car a more dynamic feel in the corners while retaining its all-important ride comfort.

Three design schemes will be available with the Rapide AMR from launch: Standard, Silhouette and Signature. Both Standard and Silhouette specifications are available in one of four colours, with the former adding AMR Lime accents to various parts of the car.

The Signature specification incorporates a ‘Stirling Green’ colour scheme, alongside an eye-catching lime green stripe down the centre of the bonnet. Buyers are also able to fully customise their car via Aston Martin’s Q bespoke service.

Prices for the Rapide AMR start from £194,950, and first deliveries are expected in the final quarter of this year.
