Toyota creates real-life tribute to classic Hilux Bruiser R/C car
One-off pick-up gets new livery, on/off switch and retractable aerial

Toyota has created a life-sized, one-off replica of a famous 1980s remote-control version of its Hilux pick-up truck.
The Hilux Bruiser remote-contol car was created by Tamiya, and now Toyota has converted a modern Hilux into a replica of the children’s toy.

The Japanese manufacturer enlisted the help of extreme conversion specialists Arctic Trucks to convert the Hilux.
Based on the Hilux Extra Cab, the Bruiser now features gigantic 35-inch tyres, uprated suspension, flared wheel arches and new gear ratios.

The wheels have been given a chromed finish, while the iconic “Hog Heaven” livery also features on the vehicle. Other modifications include an on/off switch in the load bay, as well as a detachable aerial.
James Clark, Toyota GB press relations manager, said: “While Hilux is all about capability, owners and all fans of pick-ups and big trucks know a big part of the experience is also about having fun.
“In that spirit, we wanted to do something truly original to celebrate the latest Hilux and carry forward the great relationship we have with Tamiya.
“The Hilux Bruiser combines all the colour and character of the wonderful model while also being a seriously engineered machine that can cut it in the roughest conditions.”
