Volkswagen adds to Transporter range with ‘Edition’ specification
New specification for VW Transporter line-up features improved standard equipment, which includes a full navigation system and reversing camera

Volkswagen has introduced a new, range-topping version of its popular Transporter van.
Called the Transporter Edition, the new model is available in either panel van or kombi form, and includes an impressive range of equipment as standard.
The Transporter Edition can be ordered with either a 2.0-litre, 148bhp diesel engine, or a 2.0-litre, 201bhp engine. Both are paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, although a seven-speed DSG automatic is also available as an option.
Based on the Highline trim level, Edition models gain aesthetic upgrades such as a high-gloss black roof and side mirror housings, Edition decals and blacked-out LED taillights.
Vans fitted with the 148bhp engine benefit from 17-inch “Cascavel” black diamond-surfaced alloy wheels, while the more powerful 201bhp models have 18-inch “Springfield” black alloy wheels.
Inside, VW has fitted the van with its Discover Media Navigation system, as well as front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and LED headlights. Safety equipment is also impressive, with front assist and city emergency braking systems included.
As far as storage volumes are concerned, kombi models offer 3.5 cubic metres of capacity, while panel van models have 5.8 cubic metres.
Prices for the Transporter Edition start at £28,990 for the panel van and £30,620 for the kombi.
Customer deliveries are expected to begin in November.
