Menacing new Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge to debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed
The Dawn Black Badge features a number of visual tweaks, as well as a 30bhp boost in power

The luxurious new Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge will celebrate its global debut at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Joining the Ghost and Wraith Black Badge models, the Dawn Black Badge is set to be “the most uncompromising expression of open-top luxury in the world”, says Rolls-Royce.
The high-end convertible will be presented at this year’s festival in a special black paint, one that the British manufacturer claims is the “deepest, darkest and most intense shade of black to ever grace a production car surface”.

The iconic Spirit of Ecstasy has been finished in black chrome, while the ‘Double R’ Rolls-Royce badges have been inverted in colour.
Stylistic changes have been implemented in the cabin, too. The seats are upholstered in black leather with orange contrast stitching, while a strip of orange highlight runs around the cabin.
The Black Badge treatment isn’t only an aesthetic one – the Dawn’s 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 has also been uprated to produce an additional 30bhp, with power now standing at 595bhp. An additional 20Nm of torque lends the Dawn Black Badge a total figure of 840Nm. These modifications mean the Dawn can now sprint from 0-60mph in just 4.7 seconds.

Rolls-Royce has also tweaked the Dawn’s transmission and throttle mapping, which is intended to “give the Dawn an enhanced feeling of urgency without diminishing its position as the world’s more luxurious open-top tourer”.
Larger brakes have also been fitted, and a tweaked suspension set-up ensures the Dawn corners flatter at high speeds.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge will be revealed in full at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs from June 29 to July 2, and is available to commission now.
