The Porsche Centre Wolverhampton, opened last month at the Stafford Road junction of the M54 and costing £5m, is on the starting grid to introduce itself to current and new drivers of the classic marque across the region.

The centre is sponsoring the British Hill Climb Championship weekend being staged at Loton Park, near Shrewsbury, which will see the very best drivers and cars from across the UK competing against the clock up a tight and demanding tarmac track through the stately home's deer park.

Centre principal, Simon Priest, said: "Having just expanded in to the area we thought this would be an ideal way to get into the new territory and introduce ourselves to customers throughout our coverage area of Staffordshire and Shropshire.

"We have never attended a speed hill climb event before so staff and invited guests are looking forward to what promises to be a very competitive motorsport experience, and we will have examples of our very latest Boxster, Macan and fantastic 911 models on display."

Loton Park Hill Climb is organised by Midlands-based Hagley Car Club and club official Dave Parr, added: "We are delighted to welcome Simon and his Porsche dealership team to the big national event at Loton Park on June 11 and 12 and we are sure their cars will be of great interest to both competitors and visitors.

"Besides being rounds of the highly competitive British and Midland championships for classic, saloon, sports and racing cars, an added andtimely addition will be around 20 cars competing in the Porsche Club of Great Britain National Hill Climb Championship, which sees fully competition- prepared Boxster, Cayman and 911 Carrera models taking to the track."
