Driver improvement courses for the "everyday" motorist are being launched for the first time in the UK with Shropshire as the first venue.

Driver improvement courses for the "everyday" motorist are being launched for the first time in the UK with Shropshire as the first venue.
With 42 motorists killed on UK roads every week, a county driver training organisation has decided to pioneer an important driver training seminar for motorists of all ages as part of its aim to reduce road casualties.
Now everyone from learners to those with years of experience are invited to come along for two and a half hours of tuition at the Telford HQ of the TTC Group.
Seminars are being offered to the general public for the first time due to demand from a large number of course attenders from across the country.
They say that everyone should have the opportunity to attend TTC's specialist courses to improve their driving skills without committing a motoring offence.
Each time someone attends a course, it will be recognised with a certificate.
"We have been running our highly successful courses targetted at specific groups for a number of years but we have had so many phone calls and email messages from satisfied customers who say that the information they receive should be available to everyone," said Simon Baugh, director of TTC Automotive, part of the TTC Group.
"Most of us pass our test as teenagers and then never pick up the highway code or have a refresher course despite driving all our lives.
"Many people who are experienced drivers have told us they have learned a lot that they had forgotten or didn't know as road regulations change over the years," he said.
"Our focus is always to improve the safety of drivers we train."
The first two courses will be in Telford on November 10 followed by a nationwide launch in 2011.
Top grade instructors will give an overview of potential road risks facing drivers every day with strategies to improve safety, raise awareness about speed, fatigue, driving distractions, and the effects of alcohol and drugs.
The aim is to also enhance and improve fuel efficiency.
Motorists wanting to attend the course should contact TTC Automotive on 0333 8000 222 or email driver.training@ttcautomotive.co.uk or visit www.ttcautomotive.co.uk
To encourage as many drivers as possible, the course fee has been reduced to £39.99 with further price reductions for families or group bookings and learner drivers.
The TTC Group, of Telford, is one of the country's leading driver training companies and trains thousand of the nation's drivers each year.
They are the UK's leading provider of speed awareness and driver improvement courses.
