Road near Telford reopens after early morning accident

The A442 at Sleapford near Telford has reopened after an early morning crash which saw two people cut free from a vehicle.

Two cars collided on the A442 near the junction with Long Lane at New House Farm at around 5.20am on Monday morning.

Three crews from Wellington Fire Station as well as the ambulance and police officers attended the scene,

The drivers of both of the cars, both male were taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital to be treated.

A West Mercia Police spokesman confirmed the road closure saying: "Around 5.15am this morning we were called to a serious collision near to New House Farm, Long Lane, Telford.

"The A442 remains closed near the Long Lane and Cruddington Lane junction. Officers remain at the scene."

They have released pictures of the vehicles and are asking for anyone who witnessed the accident or might have dash cam footage to call them at 101 quoting incident 131 of 12th September.
