The road was closed between the A458 near Shrewsbury (west) Churncote Roundabout and the B4396 near Dovaston overnight, with reports the incident happened at around 8pm.

Road users were advised to follow local routes, and allow extra time for their journeys, with police saying the road would be closed for some time.

However, the road had reopened by 2am, according to National Highways: West Midlands.
