Ukrainian culture will be celebrated at a special event to raise money for drones to protect people from Russian fire.

The Shrewsbury-based volunteer group Ukraine Front Line Support is holding an evening of singing, dancing, fashion and food at The Hive, Belmont, next Saturday, September 30 at 6pm.

Organiser Mila Prysyazhna, who is from Ukraine but has lived in Shropshire since 2012, supports refugees in the county and is trying to raise funds to support her brother and cousins fighting for her homeland after the Russian invasion started last year.

She said: "It is not in the news so much at the moment, but the war is still going on. It is important to let people know that it has not finished.
