Annexe to historic Ellesmere hall agreed

Plans for an annexe on an historic hall have been granted planning permission.

Lee Old Hall near Ellesmere is a grade two listed building and the parish council had objected asking instead that any annexe be detached from the main building possibly linked with a glass walkway.

But north Shropshire planning committee this week granted planning permission for the building.

Councillors said that Shropshire's conservation officer had recommended that an attached annexe would be a better solution to one that was detached.

Councillor Rob Gittins said he was happy to go with the advice from the council's meticulous conservation officer.
