Paramedics, police and firefighters called as car hits petrol pump at garage
Paramedics, police and firefighters were called to a petrol station where a car hit a fuel pump.
The driver of the car involved was assessed at the scene in Oswestry but did not need hospital treatment after the crash happened on Thursday morning.
Fire crews and police remained at the Shell Garage on Salop Road two hours after being called at around 10.35am.
The garage is currently closed and its manager, Louise Meredith, said engineers are expected this afternoon to assess the situation before it reopens.
Ms Meredith said it was the first time in the 15 years she has been at the garage that anyone had crashed into a petrol pump.
She said: "Luckily the driver is fine and no one was injured, it could have been a lot worse."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said that the driver had been discharged at the scene.
He said: “We were called at 10.35am to reports of a single-vehicle RTC at the Shell Garage on Salop Road, Oswestry.
"We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene and assessed a woman, who was the driver, and she was discharged at the scene.”

One fire crew was sent and the initial fire service report said no-one was trapped in the vehicle after the crash.
Police said they were assisting the fire service, with a spokesman saying: "Officers were called at 10.45am to reports of a collision involving a car and a petrol pump on Salop Road, Shrewsbury.
"Officers remain in attendance along with colleagues from the fire service who are currently ensuring the scene is safe."
