Cooking sparks fire in Oswestry bungalow

Two people escaped a burning house and were given oxygen treatment after unattended cooking sparked a fire.

The fire started at a semi-detached bungalow at Windsor Road, Oswestry and was reported at about 12.25am today.

Two occupants were able to get out of the house themselves before three fire crews arrived from Oswestry and Ellesmere.

To bring the fire under control the firefighters used four sets of breathing equipment and three water jets.

They also gave the two people oxygen therapy.
