The Oswestry Bunny Run, which is in its third year, takes place on April 8 with all proceeds going to The Movement Centre in Gobowen.

Registration is now open for the five-kilometre (three-mile) fun run, which takes in the attractive green spaces of the border town.

Over the past two years the event has raised more than £2,000 for charities in Shropshire.

All proceeds from this year's run will go The Movement Centre, based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt orthopaedic hospital, for its pioneering work improving the mobility of children with disabilities.

The centre's therapies help youngsters with their movement control, such as giving them head control so they can interact with their family. They can also help children sit unaided, so that they can play with their friends.

In some cases, it is possible to help children to walk.

Jason Manford, co-organiser of the event, said: “The concept of the Bunny Run was to raise money for local charities as well as connecting the community through sport,” said James Manford

He said people did not need to be competitive runners to take part, and people of all ages were welcome.

People were welcome to bring their dogs along, James added.

Fancy dress is encouraged, but not essential, and everybody taking part will receive a goodie bag.

To take part in the event you can register online at www.bunnyrun.co.uk. The entry price is £10.50 for adults and £5.50 for children, with all profits going to The Movement Centre.
