Norton in Bloom, of Norton-in-Hales, will compete for honours in the Britain in Bloom Village awards as well as the Heart of England competitions.

The group hopes to continue their winning tradition, with past successes in the Heart of England Britain in Bloom competition. The village won in the Village category and scooped a Gold award last year.

Altogether there will be 71 finalists across the UK in 12 different categories.

Judging will take place in late July and early August, with points awarded for achievements in Horticulture, Environment and Community.

Regular work parties are held to keep the village's flower beds and public displays clean and tidy.

The group meets in the Hind Head on the first Thursday of the month, and new volunteers are always welcome.
