A458 crash victim tells of fight back to health after driver jailed
A woman who suffered life-changing injuries when a lorry driver crashed into her near Bridgnorth has spoken of her sense of relief after he was sentenced.

Adele Williams was in court to see Glen Evans receive a sentence of 10 months in jail.
Adele said: “I feel the judge was fair and took into account his past convictions, also the fact that he had put myself and my family through emotional distress for the past two years. I have had to listen to him shout not guilty twice.
“Seeing the actual video dashcam footage in court has been cathartic.”
Adele said she is still working hard to recover from the severe injuries she suffered when Evans’ articulated tractor and lorry crashed into her car on the A458.
Her pelvis, femur and arm were shattered. She has also been left with chronic leg pain.

“My injuries are still causing immense pain”, said Adele. “My pelvis injury is still requiring vast amounts of morphine and other medications.
"The metal work to my arm suffers with the cold and I am unable to use the arm for normal day-to-day activities. I do push myself and attend hydrotherapy bi-weekly as well as weekly hypnotherapy, eye movement therapy for post traumatic stress disorder, and physiotherapy.
“I have four children under ten. They lost their mum for seven weeks when I was in hospital and have ongoing issues with separation anxiety.
“I still have guilt issues as I’m unable to fulfil my role at work to its fullest requirements. I have gone from running the company to an administrative role. My father was about to retire when the crash happened and now he has had to take on my role, too.
“I am slowly getting closure by meeting with the firemen who attended the crash, talking to police officers and speaking to witnesses.
“It has been an awful two years and the knock-on effects have hit my family and friends who have offered me the most tremendous support. I have a long way to go in sorting pain and improving my mobility but I am extremely positive that I will continue to push forward.
“We have lived with our emotions all over the place, and concentrated on trying to get better and learn to walk again.”
