Car destroyed in Bridgnorth blaze

A car has been destroyed in a deliberate fire in Bridgnorth.

Crews were called just before midnight to the blaze on the B4368, which is believed to be arson

Firefighters from Bridgnorth Station used hoses to put out the fire within 15 minutes.

Derek Taylor, from the arson prevention team at Shropshire Fire and Rescue service said it is awaiting examination by police to the origins of the fire

Three fire crews were also called to the A49 at Ashford Bowdler in Ludlow after a car accident in the night.

The appliances, along with the incident support unit and the rescue tender were sent from Ludlow and Wellington stations.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police were also at the scene.

No-one was trapped in the accident, which happened just before 1am today.
