The event, which will include football tournaments for under and over 12s, is taking place at the Severn Centre, in Bridgnorth Road, Highley, on Thursday.

A group of young people have taken on organising the event as part of a National Citizen Service project.

People can still sign up for the tournaments and there will also be bouncy castles, face painting, stalls and a tombola.

Olivia Iles, aged 16, of Highley, is one of the organisers of the event.

She said: "There will be certificates and prizes for the winners.

"We have had quite a lot of interest from over 12s so far and would like more under 12s to sign up.

"We will be raising money for Rupert's Revenge, a young boy with a rare condition who desperately needs money for medical treatment.

"We saw a lot about it and we thought it was a good cause."

Six-year-old Rupert Beckett, from Bridgnorth, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was just two-and-a-half years old.

After receiving treatment on the NHS, his parents Edward and Sarah were told last year there was nothing more that could be done for their son.

Since February, the family along with friends and relatives have been raising money towards the £750,000 they need to send Rupert for treatment in Michigan, America.

More than a quarter of the funds needed have now been raised.

Olivia added: "There will be lots of other things happening on the day as well. "We will have stalls, bouncy castles and face painting. There will also be charity buckets for donations."

The event will run between 2.30pm and 8.30pm.

The tournament for under 12s costs £1 to enter, and is £3 for over 12s.

Sign-up sheets will be available at the Severn Centre and on the noticeboard at Sainsbury's, Bridgnorth.

For anyone wanting a stall, it costs £10.
