NHS shake-up hitch hits £27m Ludlow hospital

A shake-up of the NHS has further delayed a long-awaited £27 million hospital in Shropshire.

South Shropshire MP Philip Dunne said yesterday the planned hospital for Ludlow was "weeks not months" away from getting the official green light.

Builders had been due to start on Ludlow's Eco Business Park, off the A49, last September but then a change in the wording of a new Government Bill put the funding on hold and the project in the balance.

Ludlow MP Mr Dunne said in April the issue had all been resolved and contracts would be signed in a few weeks but he revealed the latest hiccup before a closed meeting of Ludlow Health Facility Forum yesterday afternoon.
