Crash reported at busy Shrewsbury roundabout

One person managed to get themselves out of a crash between two cars at a busy roundabout in Shrewsbury.

Police, fire and ambulance emergency services were scrambled to Hancock Way, Old Potts Way and Pritchard Way at 8.56am on Thursday .

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call around 9am this morning with a report of a collision on the A458 Reabrook Roundabout.

"Officers attended the incident to find two cars involved and one driver trapped in the vehicle."

A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service confirmed it was a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.

They added that there were reports of one person being trapped but they managed to "self extricated the vehicle."

Police will remain at the scene to assist other emergency services and manage the traffic.

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service had sent two appliances to the scene with an operations officer.

AA Traffic News had reported that heavy traffic in the area from the crash which was first reported at 8.11am.
