A Shropshire couple's decision to retire from farming has resulted in a dispersal sale on Friday, November 9.
Shrewsbury-based auctioneers Halls are selling the entire herd of 65 Holstein Friesian dairy cattle, 41 store cattle, farm vehicles, machinery, implements and fodder on behalf of Mr and Mrs David Ingham of Hine Heath Farm, Stanton, Shrewsbury.
The dairy cows are recorded with National Milk Records and comprise good bodied, homebred animals supplemented by quality, bought in replacements.
The cows are cubicle housed, have not been pushed and are fed cake in the herringbone parlour and grass silage outside. The current herd average is 6,639 kilograms with 3.94 per cent butterfat and 3.30 per cent protein.
The Inghams have always had a policy of equipping to a high standard, which is reflected in the range and quality of machinery on offer.
The vehicles includes a 2004 John Deere 6220 4WD tractor, a 2001 John Deere 6810 4WD tractor, a JCB 530-50 telescopic loader and a Land Rover Discovery TDI.
