Barbers Auctions LLP is pleased to report a tremendous trade for pedigree Belgian Blue cull bulls and cows on Monday, March 19, at their dedicated Over-Thirty-Month Evening Sale at Market Drayton.

Ten cows averaging 152.5p/kg went before a full ring of buyers representing the export and home market.

The trade peaked at a very impressive 180p/kg for a cow weighing 825kg to return £1,485 from a Tamworth vendor who also saw 170p/kg three times.

Trade for cows ranged from 120p/kg to 180p/kg and more cattle could have been sold to vendors' advantage. A Belgian Blue bull also sold well to 127.5p/kg to generate £1,383.37 from a Kidderminster vendor.

"It is great to see such a trade for quality cattle at Market Drayton. It is our goal to value add and recognise niche markets for our clients.

"Working with the local Belgian Blue Society and other suckler breeds all helps to target and maximise a specialist market.

"We have established an export-type market every third Monday of the month with the next sale on Monday April 16," reports Bernie Hutchinson, managing partner and OTMS Auctioneer.
