Young breeder scoops award

A Midlands-based young sheep breeder has scooped a major award, which was competed for internationally, with his Suffolk sheep flock.Eighteen-year-old Tom Cox of Marston, Staffordshire (pictured right), beat entries from throughout the UK, Eire and Belgium, to win the Bristol Gold Cup, with the Tomcroft flock which he established in 2000, while still at school.

Eighteen-year-old Tom Cox of Marston, Staffordshire (pictured right), beat entries from throughout the UK, Eire and Belgium, to win the Bristol Gold Cup, with the Tomcroft flock which he established in 2000, while still at school.

Now he will be welcoming sheep breeders from throughout the UK and beyond to view the flock of some 50 flock ewes at a special open day and prizegiving on Thursday, November 2, at Manor Farm.

The view day will commence at midday with prizegiving, full results will be announced, at 2pm.

All those interested in Suffolk sheep are welcome and refreshments will be available.
