Dairy farm reaches £1.6m at big auction
A dairy farm near Bridgnorth with the potential for a range of residential, agricultural, commercial and equestrian opportunities has been sold in 10 lots realising almost £1.6 million at auction in Kidderminister.
A crowded auction room conducted by Roger Sadler FRICS FAAV of Halls, competed for Lower Chorley Farm, Chorley, which was offered for sale in 10 lots resulting in the sale of the 211 acre farm at an average of £7,530 per acre overall.
Lot 1 consisted of a Grade II listed, farmhouse and cottage dating back to the 15th century with modern farm buildings and pasture land of 44.76 acres, which realised its guide price of £750,000.
Lot 2, a traditional brick and tile barn with residential planning consent for conversion to a three bedroom dwelling overlooking its own one acre pasture paddock, exceeded its guide by £70,000 to make £200,000 on the night.
Farmers competed for various lots of arable and pasture land ranging from eight to 67 acres,which realised from £3,500 to over £6,000 per acre.
