Joint auctioneers Halls and Nock Deighton, who are attracting keen interest in the property, say the farm is suitable for continued agricultural and equestrian use.

Lower Chorley Farm comprises an attractive, Grade II listed, half-timbered farmhouse and adjoining farm cottage, a traditional barn with residential planing consent, a range of modern farm buildings and 211 acres of pasture and arable land.

The property is located within easy reach of Bridgnorth, Kidderminster and Ludlow, and has good road links to the West Midlands, with Birmingham just 30 miles to the east.

Lot one, which has a guide price of £750,000, includes period, four-bedroomed farmhouse, three-bedroomed farm cottage,Êextensive range of modern and traditional farm buildings and nearly 42 acres of pastureland.

Believed to date back to the 15th Century, the farmhouse has been extended to provide attractive accommodation on two floors with a wealth of original features, including exposed ceiling and wall timbers.

To the side and rear of the house is a raised patio garden surrounded by shrubbery borders and ornamental stone walls.

The farm cottage, which formerly had an access to the farmhouse, is of the same half-timbered construction. The ground-floor accommodation includes an entrance hall, lounge, sitting room, dining area, fitted kitchen and utility with walk-in pantry. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Outbuildings include a brick-built wc with hand basin and attractive lawned gardens, with mature trees, flowerbeds and shrubbery borders.

The extensive farm buildings include 80ft x 15ft cruck barn fronting the original yard, while to the rear, arranged around concrete yards with a separate road access, are open-fronted stores, a grain silo, general purpose shed, cattle shed incorporating a milking parlour, dairy, cubicle shed, two livestock buildings, a three-bay stockyard, muck store, silage clamp and dirty water lagoon.

A track from the rear yard leads to a four-bay pole barn with a lean-to and a five-bay Dutch barn.

With a guide price of £130,000, lot two comprises a traditional former brick and stone cowshed with planning permission for conversion to a three bedroomed home with just over one acre of pastureland.

The remaining eight lots, which have a guide price of between £3,000 and £5,000 an acre, comprise parcels of arable, pasture and woodland ranging in size from nearly eight acres to 67 acres.
