A fire engine from Shrewsbury attended to the burning car at Rowton Road, Sutton, after receiving an emergency call just after 3.15pm.

On arrival they found the car well alight.

Firefighters had to wear breathing apparatus to get close enough to extinguish the flames using two hoses.

The car was 50 per cent destroyed.
