The 14-year-old became trapped in her home in Bevan Way, at about 8.30am.

A crew from Market Drayton was called to the scene and used a ladder to access the youngster's room.

Barry Plant, from Market Drayton Fire Station, said: "The girl was tapped in her bedroom after the locking mechanism to the door broke.

"One firefighter climbed through the window to access the bedroom and released the door."
