Little Acorns Nursery in Bobbington, near Bridgnorth, has been judged as outstanding for the first time since its doors opened five years ago.

The nursery was graded satisfactory at its last inspection, and staff say they have been working hard to reach the highest standards possible and are delighted with the news.

Hannah Vyse, from the nursery, said: "We're over the moon.

"We've thought about the structure of the team over there and the monitoring of management and it's just going from strength to strength and the numbers are showing that, we are totally full on a Sunday. Our manager Abby Wilson has been at the nursery for four years and she has put so much hard work into it and getting to a really high standard."

In the report, Ofsted inspectors praised Little Acorns, saying that every child at the nursery is valued and respected, and that excellent partnerships with other agencies ensure that their individual needs are identified and met where necessary.

This is particularly the case where children are assessed as benefiting from additional support to reach their full potential, according to the report.

It also said that parents and carers have excellent opportunities to be involved with their children's early learning and development, children's communication and language development is well supported and that the nursery has excellent staff development.

"This results in teaching of a high quality and children make outstanding progress in their early learning and development, the report states.

Ms Vyse said: "We want to keep improving, we even said to the officer, now we're at that standard we're not going to rest on our laurels, we're going to keep improving, we've all got so many ideas we want to bring in."

The nursery is looking at improving its forest school sessions and outdoor learning.
