Mobility scooter stolen from van near Oswestry

Thieves stole a mobility scooter from the back of a van near Oswestry, leaving the company that was repairing it searching for another so that the owner can leave her house.

The scooter was taken from the vehicle in Park Crescent, Park Hall, at about midnight on Sunday night.

The thieves also smashed the rear and side window of and stole a wheel from a Renault Clio on the same driveway.

Owner of Shropshire Mobility Repairs, Andrea Marston, said the scooter had been due to be delivered to a customer.

"We are now desperately trying to locate her another scooter so that she can leave the house. We’re absolutely devastated for the customer and can not believe that mindless criminals can sink to such lows of stealing a mobility scooter," she said.
