Man injured in car dragging incident
A man was dragged along a residential street by a car containing four masked people in a late-night incident on the Shropshire border.
Two men and a 13-year-old girl were walking along Oaksmoor Close, a cul-de-sac in Wheaton Aston, near Newport, when they were approached by the car, police revealed today.
A black BMW with four occupants, all wearing masks, pulled up alongside the men and girl.
A conversation took place between the people in the car and the men. The car drove off but came back again, pulling up alongside them. As one of the men tried to pull the mask off one of the occupants, the driver drove off and dragged the other man, who was leaning on the car, along the road. The 41-year-old victim needed hospital treatment and had 18 stitches for a head injury.
The vehicle is described as a very shiny black high class BMW, possibly a 5-series, with tinted windows, large alloy wheels, four doors and a boot.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to Sunday's incident at 12.15am to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 15 of July 21.
