Huge haul of perfume snatched in Shifnal house raid
Perfumes worth thousands of pounds have been stolen in a raid on a house near Shifnal, police said today.
Officers believe the thieves will now attempt to sell on the haul. They are urging anyone offered larges quantities of cosmetics for sale in dubious circumstances to contact them.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "This is an unusual theft in so far as such a large quantity of perfume has been taken.
"The thieves will be trying to sell it on and we appeal to anyone offered perfume for sale on the cheap, to call the police on 101 or 0300 333 3000.
"Don't be tempted to purchase as you may end up being prosecuted for receiving stolen goods."
The perfume stock was stolen from a garage at a home in Hinnington, Shifnal, between 5pm on Sunday and 1.45pm yesterday.
The thieves also broke into the house and checks are still being made to establish what else was stolen.
