Two men, believed to be of Eastern European descent, went into Imagine Me beauty clinic in St Mary Street on Friday and distracted staff by talking about massages.

Staff member Rebecca Bird, 24, became suspicious and when the men left she realised a phone behind the counter had gone missing.

The men got into a car and were about to drive off when Mrs Bird stood in front of their vehicle and demanded the phone be returned.

Imagine Me owner Debbie Owen said: "Rebecca ran out in the street and wouldn't let the men drive off. Eventually they threw the phone on to the bonnet and drove off.

"It was such a surprise to hear what she had done."

Richard Ewels, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said the men got into a blue car.
