Thousands of supporters recognised in air ambulance's annual 'thank-a-thon'
The region's air ambulance charity used a recent 'National Thank You Day' to contact thousands of supporters in recognition of their backing.
The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity hosted its annual 'Thank-A-Thon' in celebration of the annual thank you day - a day dedicated to acknowledging and appreciating the kindness and generosity from individuals and businesses in local communities.
The charity’s aircrew, staff, and volunteers came together to contact more than 28,500 loyal supporters across the region through phone calls and emails.
The charity said the annual event offers a meaningful way to express its gratitude to those who have contributed to its lifesaving missions.
Those who could not be reached by phone were sent warm messages of appreciation by e-mail and via the charity’s social media platforms, ensuring no supporter was left unrecognised.
National Thank You Day, which was marked by the charity on July 7, is an annual event that unites millions across the UK to celebrate and acknowledge individuals and organisations who go the extra mile for their communities.
Carl Williams, community fundraising lead at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support we receive from across the communities we serve. Whether it is our kind donors, volunteers, local businesses, or community groups, we are always humbled by the generosity shown towards our cause.
“While we regularly thank our supporters in various ways throughout the year, our dedicated Thank-A-Thon is a great way for us to collectively show our gratitude and thank all of those amazing people who make our vital pre-hospital emergency service possible.”
Charity volunteer Martin Watson also reflected on the event syaing: “The charity’s critical care teams respond to an average of 10 incidents every day, and it’s only thanks to the incredible supporters that they can help those most in critical need across the six counties. I was really happy to be able to be involved in the Thank-A-Thon and was truly touched by the experience of speaking with some of the kind donors.”
