But, the school also has a learning environment to be proud of and was recently recognised by Ofsted as a place that gives children the "best possible start" in education.
The report has given the school several reasons to celebrate, and as you walk through the building and are greeted by polite and welcoming pupils, you understand why inspectors were so impressed.

The school is built on having a family feel. And, this is shown through the way children of all year groups interact with one other in their play time.
Pontesbury Primary has recently developed its play and lunch times, adopting an 'open play' initiative. Thanks to funds raised by the school community and the 'Friends of Pontesbury CofE Primary School', the school has new play equipment and facilities, and pupils are allowed to roam free across the whole school grounds.

Pupils enjoy a disco through music playing from a speaker while there is also a range of fancy dress costumes to pick from. New huts in the school's 'mini village' - that have been made by staff and children - are as equally popular, as is the pretend bus.
The school has a real sense of community and belonging, and children are doing their bit to be good citizens and look after their area. Members of the school council provide pupil voice and are organising a large litter pick in the region.

Staff certainly have a lot of love for pupils. The school is extremely proud to have one member who has been there for more than 25 years while others have gone from being apprentices to fully qualified teachers.
