Pointless host Alex Armstrong, and Dudley comedy legend Sir Lenny Henry have been spotted across Shropshire this weekend.

The pair were seen in Much Wenlock town centre on Friday before they visited Ironbridge.

Bob May who snapped the celebrities at lunchtime on Friday, said the pair were shooting a Channel 4 series for production company Up and Away Studios.

Truffles Café in Ironbridge took to social media after Lenny and Alexander visited on Saturday. The pair enjoyed jacket potatoes and took time to pose for pictures with café staff.

A post by cafe owner, Nick Barratt said said: "In our line of business we get to meet so many people, sometimes these people can be celebrities, today we hosted Lenny Henry, Alexander Armstrong and their film crew. Thank you for choosing Truffles!

"I had to get a joke in too with it being me. I walked over to them and asked for a photo for the Facebook page and said 'I know you may think it’s pointless but I don’t'. If you know you know."

Truffles café has welcomed several famous faces over the years including darts player Luke Littler and TV star Alison Hammond.

Speaking to the Shropshire Star after Lenny and Alexander's visit, Nick said: "They made a booking and said they were a TV crew, but when they walked in I was like 'wow it's Lenny Henry and Alexander Armstrong'.

"We were so busy but I think they had jacket potatoes.

"They were really accommodating and down to earth. Lenny is exactly what you see on TV, really down to earth and Alexander is really cool as well.

"They were definitely filming in Ironbridge, maybe they are doing something across the whole of Shropshire."
