Telford has been chosen from a shortlist of ten places across the UK – including Gloucester, Sheffield and Norwich – to land its own Monopoly board.

The announcement comes as what is arguably the world’s most popular board game turns 90 years old this year.

Today (Thursday, February 6) Mr Monopoly will visit the town to officially break the news on the town's world-famous Iron Bridge

There, it will be revealed how Telford has beaten off competition from across the UK based on three factors - 'sense of family', 'civic pride' and 'loved landmarks'.

The public will also be invited to send in suggestions for landmarks and organisations to be featured in the game over a two-week nomination period, with the game hitting the shops in time for Christmas 2025.
