Emergency crew scrambled to heating oil leak in Bishop's Castle
Fire fighters were scrambled to reports of heating oil leaking into a property in Bishop's Castle.
Posts by local residents on Facebook warned of the strong smell of kerosene around the site of the incident in Bull Street on Friday afternoon.
A utility company was also on the scene and a fire crew from Bishop's Castle was mobilised at 3.55pm.
“At 3:55pm on Friday, 1 November, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as fuel leak/small spillage in Bishop's Castle,” said a spokesperson for Shropshire Fire & Rescue.
“One fire appliance was mobilised from Bishop's Castle.
“Also at the scene of the incident were a utility company.”
When they arrived the crew found that the incident was a leaking heating oil supply into a property.
The crew managed to isolate it before sending their stop message one hour later.
