Kulveer Chopra, 37, of Telford, persistently breached court orders including a five-year restraining order made as part of his sentence given for assaulting the victim.

Ms Sejhan Shabani, prosecuting barrister, said the latest breach was committed on November 24 when he went to the woman's home in Sutton Hill.

Under the terms of the order Chopra must not attempt contact her in any way.

Chopra was jailed for six months for an offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against her in April. He was released on June 4. But two days later he breached the order. He was then jailed for two weeks.

Ms Shabani said he breached again on September 7 for which he was jailed for two months, concurrent with being sentenced for four weeks for a separate matter of assaulting an emergency worker.

He was released on October 4 and then breached the five-year restraining order on November 24. The following day he was convicted of harassment and breach at a hearing held in Worcestershire.

Ms Shabani said he admitted the breaches in a prepared statement. She added that the terms of the order were clear and easy to adhere to.

Mr Kevin Jones, mitigating barrister, told the latest hearing at Shrewsbury that Chopra, of Stebbings also in Sutton Hill did not harm the woman when he visited and that her current partner contacted the police.

"There was some reference to a panic button, but the court does not know if it was activated," Mr Jones added.
