Inquiry to examine role of two former collapsed coach firm directors
A public inquiry will investigate what involvement two former directors of a collapsed coach firm had in two other companies.
Gareth and Arwyn Lloyd Davies will face a hearing in Birmingham on December 5, it has been confirmed.
A new inquiry will look at the two men's involvement in two Shropshire firms.
It will investigate whether they are still involved in RJs, of Wem, and RML 2418 Ltd.
It will also consider a report from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, which has been investigating driver working hours and whether vehicles were roadworthy.
The pair were disqualified from holding public transport operator licences in September after the collapse of GHA Coaches.
The company's two licences, authorising the use of 146 vehicles in Wales, with bases in Ruthin, Corwen, Ruabon and Wrexham, and 80 vehicles in the North West of England, with bases in Chester, Middlewich, Winsford and Macclesfield, were revoked by the Traffic Commissioner for Wales following a hearing at Welshpool Town Hall.
The firm, based in Ruabon, near Wrexham, went into administration in July with the loss of 320 jobs after failing to pay a tax bill.
The company ran several public transport routes across Shropshire and also a number of school services when it went into administration.
Almost 50 GHA Coaches workers approached solicitors with a view to pursuing action against the firm for failing to consult with them before the redundancies in the wake of the company closing down.
