Telford bus drivers threaten strike action over pay
Bus drivers in Telford are threatening industrial action over a dispute about pay and conditions.
Members of the Unite union have held talks with bosses from the Arriva bus firm. Some Arriva workers in the Telford area are said to be upset with the level of their pay, and with terms and conditions with the firm.
Rob Cheveaux, area managing director for Arriva, said the company had not been told about any formal action.
He said: "We are currently in discussions with Unite representatives regarding pay and terms and conditions for our drivers based in Telford.
"These conversations are ongoing as we aim to reach a mutually-beneficial agreement for all concerned. As such, there has as yet been no formal action related to this matter confirmed with ourselves."
Results of the talks are expected to be released over the next few days.
Members of the union said they could not give any details about ongoing discussions for the time being, but said they hoped to meet a mutually convenient solution.
