Left for dead: Telford motorcyclist thrown from bike as driver flees scene of crash
Telford motorcyclist Andy Stone says he was left for dead by a motorist who fled the scene of an accident.
The experienced rider was thrown from his bike after being in collision with a silver Ford Mondeo. But as he lay on the ground with suspected spinal injuries, the driver of the car sped off.
Mr Stone, 30, was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, but escaped the ordeal with severe bruising.
Recovering at home today, he appealed for help to find the driver.

He said his pride and joy, a Kawasaki ZRX 1100 he had spent four years restoring, was written off.
He said: "I don't know what I would say to the driver who left me there.
"There are no words to describe how I am feeling, I feel like I lost so much in the crash. It goes to show you that you can tick all the boxes, be driving safely, have a good stopping distance and something like this can happen due to the actions of another driver."
Mr Stone, a warehouse worker from Hadley, Telford, had been riding with two other motorcyclists, taking advantage of the fine weather and good road conditions on Friday.
The group had stopped at the Tontine Hotel in Ironbridge for a coffee and before the accident had been driving up Cherry Tree Hill in Coalbrookdale to join the Ironbridge bypass.
The Mondeo driver attempted to overtake a Toyota Yaris on the A4169, but struck it and forced it to spin into the motorcycle. Mr Stone said: "I tried to mount the verge to get out of the way but it wasn't enough and the Toyota hit me."
"As I was going along the verge I saw the Mondeo regain control and drive off. He carried on going regardless.
"I've got a rainbow of bruises, I'm really stiff, I just feel battered and bruised."
Police are investigating the hit-and-run.
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 617 of March 25.
