A stretch of a busy road close to one of Shropshire's National Trust attractions will be closed overnight for three weeks while workers secure a sandstone cliff.

The work will be carried out on the A442 between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster after large pieces of soft sandstone have been shed on to the road.

A section of the road close to Dudmaston Hall, near Quatt, will be closed between 7pm and 6am each day from March 20. Temporary traffic lights will be in place during the day, and the route will be open over the Easter weekend.

While the work is carried out, a 2.5km stretch of the road heading south from Bridgnorth roundabout will be resurfaced.
