Final farewell to Shrewsbury river tragedy man
The funeral of Thomas Bebbington, whose body was found weeks after he went missing in the River Severn, was taking place today.
Mr Bebbington disappeared on November 10 after he entered the river close to the Dana Steps in Shrewsbury.
The funeral was being held at Vale Royal Crematorium in Northwich, Cheshire, this afternoon.
A number of people associated with The Ark in Shrewsbury are expected to attend.
The charity provides support for the homeless and the vulnerable and had supported Mr Bebbington as he established himself in Shrewsbury after moving to the town from Chester.
The 22-year-old wrote an open letter weeks before his death in which he praised The Ark and said it had helped him turn his life around.
A full inquest into the death of Mr Bebbington will take place at Shrewsbury's Shirehall on March 17.
